Add chatbot embed code to Squarespace

Install the widget through Squarespace Code Injection so it loads before the closing body tag.

Before you start

Best for

Brand sites, creator sites, restaurants, services, ecommerce catalogs, booking pages, and portfolio websites.

Install location

Use Settings, Advanced, Code Injection, Footer for all normal site pages.

Install

1Copy the widget snippetOpen the chatbot Embed page and copy the generated script.
2Open Code InjectionIn Squarespace, open the Code Injection panel from the site settings area.
3Paste in FooterPaste the complete script in the Footer field so it is injected before the closing body tag.
4Save and testSave the code injection change, open the public site, and confirm the widget launcher appears.

Access

Add the custom Squarespace domain.

Add the built in Squarespace domain only when testing from that public URL.

Remove old test domains after launch to keep access narrow.

Verify

Code Injection availability depends on the Squarespace plan.

Checkout pages and some special pages may not run normal site code.

If Ajax loading affects the widget after navigation, refresh the live page and retest from the first page a visitor lands on.
